National Paper Airplane Day (USA) takes place on May 26 every year to honor the simple aeronautical toy that has been around for thousands of years.
Legend has it flying paper airplanes originated 2,000 years ago in China.
The largest paper aircraft had a wingspan of 59.74 ft. It was built in Germany on 28th September 2013.
Joe Ayoob recorded the longest distance flown by a paper airplane in February 2012. His plane flew 226 feet, 10 inches.

‘An incredible new record for the farthest flight of a paper aircraft has been broken in South Korea.
Three people teamed up to tackle this record attempt; Kim Kyu Tae (South Korea), with the support of Shin Moo Joon (South Korea) and Chee Yie Jian/Julian, (Malaysia).
Together, they achieved a jaw-dropping distance of 77.134 m (252 ft 7 in) in Daegu, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea on 16 April 2022.’
