The Great Christmas Pudding Race will be extended to Brighton for the first time on December 11, 2010.

This race, perhaps the wackiest race ever, raises funds for the Martlets Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

The race is a challenge of dexterity, balance, speed and general silliness. Runners balance puddings on trays while running along an obstacle course described as “perilous.” The goal is for the runners to stay on their feet while holding their puddings.

Participants run in teams of seven runners; fitness is not a requirement:

The Christmas Pudding race, for Cancer Research UK, held every first weekend of December in London’s famous Covent Garden.

The race is a challenge of dexterity, balance, speed and general silliness. You’ll be balancing your pudding on a tray whilst negotiating our perilous obstacle course. You’ll need to get together a team of five people. The challenge will be staying on your feet, with your pudding.

The event is organized by NICA Events and the Brighton Xmas Pudding Fundraising Group on behalf of Cancer Research UK and Martlets Hospice and the proceeds will be split equally between them. A fun day out is guaranteed with entertainment, guest celebrities and the chance for you and your company team to receive full media coverage.
