30th Annual U.S. Open Imperial Beach Sandcastle Competition — August 6-8, 2010
This is the largest sandcastle competition in the world. And Sunday, the final day of the competition, is the largest one-day even in California (which proves that Californians have their priorities right).
Attendance — approximately 350,000.
$21,000 of prizes — cash.
Sunday’s castle building begins at 9:00 a.m. The castles are available for viewing until 2:00 p.m. Then the tide comes in.
