On January 26, 1784, Benjamin Franklin sent a letter to his daugher in which he expressed his displeasure with the choice of the eagle for the symbol of America. Franklin wanted the turkey.
We agree with Franklin. Turkeys are duller than eagles, we think. Turkeys are more stable, methodical, and reliable. Unlike eagles, turkeys are grounded — no soaring.
