About the lamp-posts in Central Park: I’ve noticed that in other cities (at least ones with numbered streets), the first two digits of the number do indeed signify the number of the street they’re closest to. It could be that the last two digits are equivalent to what the dwelling or building number would be, if it were located there. In some other cities, the number on the lamp-post does coincide with the house number (ex. 4701, 4703, etc.)
