I was in Washington DC yesterday and noticed this bike lane on 15th Street near the Washington Post building.
It makes a great deal of sense. The parked cars protect bike riders from cars passing by. And there’s a buffer zone between the parked cars and the bike lane, which protects bikers when doors on the right side of cars open.
