“I live in a ‘terrorist house’: police speak to Muslim boy, 10, over spelling error” in the Guardian.
“Muslim boy, 10, probed for ‘terrorist house’ spelling error” in BBC News.
You might think it’s dull to learn correct spelling — and to proofread to spot and correct spelling errors — but good spelling is important as this boy found out.
The boy’s teachers did not realize the boy had made a spelling mistake when he wrote that he lives in a “terrorist” house. The teachers reported the boy to the police in accordance with the 2015 Counter-Terrorism and Security Act.
The police questioned the boy and examined his laptop at the family’s “terraced” house [“row” house in the USA].
His family has demanded the school and police apologize.
